Founded in 2016 by Australian designer Marina Cortbawi, Merlette began as a New York–based atelier focused on creating garments that blend refined femininity with comfort and practicality. The brand is widely recognized for its use of natural, high-quality fabrics from airy cottons to soft silks, along with handcrafted details like smocking, embroidery, and gentle volume that elevate otherwise simple silhouettes. Cortbawi’s philosophy centers on designing pieces that feel elegant yet easy, prioritizing quality, versatility, and timelessness as the foundation of responsible fashion design.

For Spring 2026, Merlette’s 23rd collection celebrates their 10th anniversary with a love letter to India - the birthplace of thier fabrics, the home of the artisans who bring every embroidery to life, and the wellspring of their earliest inspirations.
From city streets to serene summer escapes, Collection 23 honors the past while stepping boldly into a new decade. Infused with the beauty and spirit of Rajasthan, the pieces are seen through the lens of a 70s editorial dream.
Merlette’s 23rd collection bursts with a vibrant palette drawn from India’s sensory tapestry: marigold like desert sun seen on the Rohilla Dress, lime print florals on the Saaz Top, deep blue that reminds you of the ocean for the Shore Dress, all capturing the color, texture, and spirit of India in every piece.
